Osteoarthritis
What Is Osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common type of arthritis. It happens when the smooth cartilage that cushions your joints is injured or wears down over time. Without well-functioning cartilage, joints can develop pain, stiffness, and swelling. It can affect many joints throughout the body, including the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, and foot.
You may notice aching, trouble moving the joint, or pain that gets worse with activity. OA can make daily tasks harder, like reaching, walking, or gripping objects.
Why Non-Surgical Treatments Help
Surgery isn't the only option. In fact, many people feel better with non-surgical treatments that reduce pain, improve movement, and help protect the joint from getting worse.
These treatments may include:
Exercise therapy to keep muscles strong and joints flexible
Ultrasound-guided injections (like platelet-rich plasma, prolotherapy, or viscosupplementation) to reduce pain and support healing
Shockwave therapy to stimulate tissue repair
Bracing or shoe inserts to reduce stress on joints
Activity guidance and joint protection tips
At our clinic, we focus on treatments that work with your body to relieve pain and improve function—without surgery. Our goal is to help you move better, stay active, and continue enjoying life at its fullest.
