Viscosupplementation

Joint viscosupplementation is a treatment that helps make joints hurt less and move better, especially for people with arthritis. It works by putting a gel-like fluid called hyaluronic acid into a painful joint—usually the knee, hip, or shoulder. This fluid is normally found in healthy joints and helps cushion and protect them, but people with arthritis often don’t have enough of it.

By adding this fluid back, the joint can move more smoothly, feel less stiff, and hurt less. This is a safe, non-surgical option for people who want to stay active and delay or avoid joint surgery.
